    Both the boys and girls Scottie cross country teams claimed second place at the Havre Invitational Sept. 9. The Glasgow boys scored 44 points, finishing behind Havre's 31, and ahead of Harlem, 60; Fort Benton, 101.5, and Chinook, 134. The Scottie girls lost on a sixth runner tie-breaker as both Havre and Glasgow put 38 team points on the board. North Toole County, 79; Chinook, 98.5. and Fairfield, 118, finished behind Glasgow.     The Mavericks added two wins to their record last week after defeating the Harlem Wildcats and Scobey Spartans. North Country downed class B Harlem 25-10, 25-9, 25-14 in Whitewater Sept. 7. The team had 32 kills, 12 aces, 25 assists and 34 digs. Teagan Erickson had 10 of the team's kills followed by Paige Wasson with eight and BaiLee McColly with seven.     Glasgow's gridiron struggles continued Sept. 8 as the Scotties dropped a 41-0 contest to the Columbus Cougars at Scottie Field. Columbus owned the game from their first possession – a 92-yard punt return for a touchdown – and never looked back. Glasgow again played with a short roster, one even shorter by the end of the game as starting quarterback Khye Gamas left the game in the second quarter and did not return.     Cross Country Gwendolyne Honrud The Courier The Glasgow Middle School cross country teams both won at the Havre Invitational Cross Country Meet Sept. 9.     The Lustre Christian volleyball team traveled to Westby Sept. 7 where they lost 13-25, 21-25, 25-23, 15-25 to the Thunder. The Lions attended the Scobey Invite Sept. 9 where they competed in pool play, unable to advance to tournament play. Lustre opened against the hosts, falling to Scobey 12-25, 12-25, before facing Ekalaka and losing 18-25, 25-22. The Lions then faced off against Froid/Lake. They lost the two-game match 19-25, 20-22.     The Bearcubs had one volleyball match this past week, falling to Froid/Lake in three. Frazer lost but played better after the first set: 10-25, 21-25, 20-25. Frazer had eight aces, five kills and six digs in the match. Aubrey Mai led in aces with five while Maci Fourstar had two and Audrey Smoker one.     The Frazer boys cross country team strode to a third place finish at the Scobey Invitational Sept. 8., placing two runners in the top 10. The Bearcubs scored 26 points with a team total clock time of 1:04:11.54. Jarvis Goodbird took second at the meet while Gabe Beston hit a personal record to place eighth out of 36 runners. Goodbird ran a 19:26.12 while Beston finished the course at Pioneer Town in 20:28.69. Cassius Smoker placed 25th at 24:16.73. Travis Long and Christopher Fox also set personal bests in Scobey.     Hinsdale’s cross country runners hit the Havre Invitational Cross Country Meet Sept. 9 where both runners set records. Zora Holt set a personal record of 22:31.82 in the girls race. She placed 13th out of 59 competitors. In the boys race, Linden Holt ran a 23:18.68 for a season record. He placed 48th out of 66 runners.
