    Wokal Field, the Glasgow-Valley County Airport, played host to an unusual visitor Aug. 25. A C130H plane touched down, part of the Montana Air National Guard's effort to improve community relations across the state and improve their domestic operational capability in Montana.   • Nine More Cases Added To VC Total

    The Valley County Health Department confirmed nine more cases of COVID-19 in the county over the past week. Cases 38 and 39 were announced on Aug. 26, case 40 was announced on Aug. 29 and cases 41 through 46 were announced on Sept. 1. Case 38 is a female age 50-59 who is not hospitalized and is isolating at home. This individual is asymptomatic and was identified through contact tracing.   • VC Man Killed in Vehicle Rollover Near Glasgow

    The Montana Highway Patrol reported that Daniel Rogenes was killed when he rolled his vehicle while traveling on Highway 24 South just outside Glasgow in the early morning hours on Aug. 30. The vehicle was discovered at 7:30 a.m. According to the investigating trooper David Moon, Rogenes was traveling south near mile marker 72 between Glasgow and Fort Peck in a 1999 Ford Ranger.   • Across Montana, Cyclists Ride for Science to Save Wildlife and Human Lives

    Volunteer road cyclists are taking to roads across Montana in a new scientific effort that can help save wildlife and human lives by reducing wildlife-vehicle collisions. Adventure Scientists, a Montana non-profit that recruits outdoor adventurers to collect scientific data, is deploying hundreds of road cyclists to record wildlife sightings and roadkill across 11,000 miles of Montana roads.     The Glasgow Scottie Cross Country teams opened up their regular season in Sidney on Aug. 29.
