    Valley County government is working to fix a problem regarding financial issues said to be discovered in early June and late May. According to county commission meeting minutes for the month of June, billing issues were discovered and brought to the commissioners' attention. New Valley County Health Department Supervisor Connie Boreson reported that several billings would possibly be rejected due to billings not being sent out for several months.     While it’s not a sharp increase from previous years, there has been a noticeable rise in thefts and scams in Valley County and in Glasgow. Gone are the days where you can leave home with the door unlocked, or leave your car unlocked at the grocery store. Valley County Sheriff Glen Meier explained that this weekend a trolling motor and some coolers were recovered from a previous reported theft.     Lots of cats and dogs were brought to the Valley Event Center on Friday and Saturday last week. They were received by several volunteers who helped prep animals for a short surgery, and comfort them after the work was done.     Donations from local businesses have helped give a boost to the Northeast Regional Montana SWAT Team. Deputy Reed Mesman explained that the goal to raise $8,000 for training hasn't been reached yet, but donations have helped. First Community Bank donated $2,500 toward the cause on Monday, July 21, giving close to a third of what was needed.     An open letter to city of Glasgow residents from the desk of Mayor Becky Erickson. In 1938, the Glasgow levee was built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). Once completed, the levee was given to the city of Glasgow, which took over ownership, or “public sponsor” of the system for operations and maintenance.
