    During the June 19 regular Valley County Commissioners meeting, the Commissioners unanimously passed to increase elected officials’ salaries and all permanent employee salaries by four percent. This change will be effective on their first paycheck in fiscal year ‘25, which will be in July. There was no public comments offered on either item during the meeting. T-Mobile has unveiled its latest 25 Hometown Grant recipients, tallying up to 300 communities across 47 states, including, for the first time, Rhode Island.     John Keeley is one of the newest member of the Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital's (FMDH) staff, joining the Glasgow Specialty Care Clinic as a general surgeon in May.     American Express and Main Street America announced on June 25 the 500 small business owners who have been awarded $10,000 through the Backing Small Businesses grant program.     The Department of the Interior has announced more than 1,900 state and local governments around the country will receive a total of $621.2 million in Payments in Lieu of Taxes (PILT) funding for 2024. Valley County is expected to receive $984,349 of the total $43,301,694 secured in Payment In Lieu of Taxes (PILT) funds to support critical law enforcement, firefighting, and infrastructure priorities across Montana.     Biologists conducting spring deer and elk surveys found some areas with improved herd growth and some areas with lower recruitment due to poor habitat conditions and disease.
