  • Get Off The Grass!

    Chris McDaniel, The Courier|May 5, 2021

A citizen committee is in the process of being formed to address complaints about youths on dirt bikes disturbing the tranquility of homeowners north of Glasgow. Dirt bikers are a common sight in the undeveloped area between Airport and Skylark roads, and have been for decades, residents say. Now, a large portion of the city owned parcel of land there has been closed to public use due to liability issues and allegedly poor behavior by some riders. That leaves only the 40-acre recreation area one mile north of the city, owned by the Bureau of...

  • Letters to the Editor

    May 5, 2021

Dear Editor, On April 28th, the legislature passed in both houses a bill that includes 3000 guaranteed tags for outfitters. If this sounds familiar and surprises you, it should. This passed in spite of the fact that Montanans abolished these tags by ballot measure, and the bill that was introduced this session trying to overturn that measure was killed after having public hearings. This breaks my heart, it really does. At $5,000 per guided hunt (intentionally conservative) this just resulted in...

  • Yard Work, Cooking, and Drinking

    Mary Honrud, For the Courier|May 5, 2021

Finally, a Sunday without snow, although it’s cold and blustery, with spits of rain. Unfortunately, those spits were not nearly enough for this dry country, but they do help to keep our hopes for more rain alive. There was some advancement made towards the summer yard-to-be this week. A couple afternoons were spent clearing more flowerbeds; only three are left.
