  • Valley County Free Tree Day 2019

    Valley County Free Tree Day 2019 will be held on May 16 on the east lawn of the Valley County Courthouse, starting at 7:30 a.m. A total of 932 trees will be given away during this one day event, including 150 Prairie Sky Poplar (cottonless), 150 Common Lilac, 100 Golden Currant, 150 Chokecherry, 150 American Plum, 100 Caragana and 100 Buffaloberry. The boys and girls swept the Scottie Invitational held at Sunnyside Golf Course on April 26, and the Malta Invitational on April 27.     Following a less-than-stellar performance by the Lady Scottie softball team vs. Havre on April 23 (loss to the Ponies 20-1 in three innings), the girls were tasked with re-grouping and preparing for the Scottie Softball Slam held April 26 and 27. So far this season, the Lady Scotties have left the coaches and spectators frustrated.     The Scottie tracksters were in Great Falls April 27 as they competed in the Fairfield/Belt Invitational. Both teams finished in third place behind Seeley-Swan and Fort Benton.
