    The Scottie boys won three of three games last week with victories over Harlem, Sidney and Fairview. Glasgow started the weekend Jan. 23 with a 59-45 win over Harlem. They downed the Eagles 70-39 the following night and closed out Jan. 25 with a 52-42 win over the Warriors in Fairview. The Scotties held the Wildcats to 7 points in each of the first and second quarters while scoring 13 and 14 for a 27-14 lead at the half.   • Nashua Boys Split, Girls Lose Two

    The Nashua boys picked up a 72-51 win over the Bearcubs in Frazer Jan. 21 before falling 72-28 to the Lions at home Jan. 24. The girls lost their games 54-22 to Frazer and 54-29 to Lustre. Boys Nashua took a 21-13 lead over Frazer in the first quarter and improved on it with a 15-5 run in the second. The Porcupines led 58-34 after three. They were outscored 17-15 in the final eight minutes as they held on for the 73-51 win. Bubba Pugh led all scorers with 16 points. Noah Leckie connected for 22 and Charlie Kaasa added 17 points.     Both the Lustre Christian girls and boys basketball teams won their games over the Porcupines in Nashua Jan. 24. The girls won their game 54-29 while the boys posted a 72-28 victory. Girls Lustre started the game with a 16-5 run in the first quarter and led 31-17 at the half. They scored 12 in the third and 11 in the fourth while holding Nashua to 6 points in each of the same quarters for the 54-29 win. Lauren Fast led Lustre with 13 points.     Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks’ Region 6 is hosting a hunter, bowhunter, and trapper education instructor workshop from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Cottonwood Inn Convention Center.     I went down another rabbit hole for the word with which I titled this week’s column. It originated in Middle English, at some point between 1150 and 1500, from the word mysse masche. In the Bible, it was Michmash, and meant something hidden, a town of Benjamin. I didn’t go as far as looking up the specified verse (1 Samuel 13:2), but took Google’s word for it.   • Glasgow Highlanders Compete In Billings And Roundup

    The Highlanders brought a small contingent to outer-division tournaments in both Billings and Roundup this weekend and had a lot of individual success! On Saturday, the team competed on the campus of Rocky Mountain College at the Magic City Mayhem. Ten of the Eleven Highlanders in attendance would place in the top 5 and five were crowned champions.
