A coroner’s inquest related to the 2023 death of Jonathan Ryan Hamilton was held on Dec. 16, at the Valley County Courthouse. According to law, the inquest is a formal inquiry into the causes and circumstances surrounding the death of a person and is conducted by the coroner before a jury. The Montana Department of Commerce announced on Dec. 23 that 21 Montana cities, towns, counties and water and sewer districts will share nearly $800,000 of grant funding to help communities plan infrastructure projects that will construct or upgrade drinking water, wastewater and stormwater systems. Alice Ann (Wall) Unger passed away and into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus on the morning of Monday, Dec. 16, 2024. In early November, our chapter traveled to Sidney for the Floriculture and Sales Career Development Events (CDEs). The Hinsdale FFA Chapter sent four students to the John Deere Ag Expo in Bozeman which was a four-day competition. Our participants competed in several events, including Mechanics, Floriculture, Livestock Judging, and Sales. Kade Strommen led our chapter with an impressive performance in mechanics, achieving the best showing we have had in decades by placing 14th out of 290 participants. The market report for the Glasgow Stockyards on Dec. 19 show 4,706 cattle sold. We ended 2024 with a Big Feeder Special. There were many fancy strings of calves from all over northeast Montana. The Glasgow Squirt and Mite Ice Dawg teams traveled over the border to Rock Glen, Canada, on Dec. 21, to play against the Rock Glen Thunderhawks.
