    The Town Pump Charitable Foundation has invited our local Valley Community Emergency Food Bank to participate in their 2024 “BE A FRIEND INDEED, HELP THOSE IN NEED” campaign. The foundation will match each dollar collected by our food bank up to $5,000 through Saturday, Nov. 30. All donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 63, Glasgow, Mt 59230.   • Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen Reminds Montanans Of Voter Resources

    The Montana Secretary of State’s Office is reporting that Valley County has a 41.6 percent return rate of absentee ballots as of Oct. 24. So far, 1,512 ballots have been returned compared to 3,647 absentee ballots that were sent out in Valley County. The number of registered voters in Valley County totals 5,046.     Governor Greg Gianforte has announced Montana’s unemployment was 3.3 percent in September, continuing a record stretch of low unemployment. Montana’s unemployment rate remained below the national rate of 4.1 percent. The state’s unemployment rate of 3.3 percent in September continues a record of 39 consecutive months with the rate at or below 3.4 percent.   • Glasgow City Council Approves Bid For Pool Bathhouse

    During the regular council meeting on Oct. 7, the Glasgow City Council approved the final piece of the new swimming pool project in Glasgow by voting to accept the bid from Corland Construction to build a bathhouse at a cost of $954,080. Corland Construction is currently constructing the swimming pool and now with them responsible for the pool bathhouse, both projects are expected to be completed by the end of May 2025.
