At 7:20 p.m., on Oct. 6, Valley County Dispatch received a 911 call stating multiple gun shots were being reported in the town of St. Marie. Officers responded from Valley County Sheriff’s Office and Glasgow Police Department. Both officers made contact with a male suspect. The suspect was given multiple commands and did not comply. On July 5, the Valley County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the Eastern Montana Drug Task Force, executed two separate search warrants on two houses in Glasgow. The search warrants resulted in the arrest of two individuals for possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of drugs with intent to distribute. On Tuesday, June 20, at 8:20 p.m., a caller reported a single vehicle rollover accident on Montana Highway 24S just east of the Duck Creek Road and the Gateway restaurant. Law enforcement arrived and observed a single male occupant trapped inside the car. STAT EMS and Fire responded to the scene. According to the Glasgow City/Long Run Fire Department the sole occupant was trapped in the vehicle and required extrication. Update To The Incident From March 29 The Yellowstone County Coroner’s Office has identified 47-year-old, Jonathan Ryan Hamilton, as the deceased person from the March 29, 2023, officer involved shooting incident, that occurred in Glasgow, Montana. Hamilton was originally arrested, on a Blaine County Arrest Warrant, in another state and was returned to Montana to face several criminal charges pertaining to child sexual assault. BNSF Train Hits Vehicle On Nov. 14, at approximately 08:35 a.m., dispatch received a 911 call stating a BNSF train struck a vehicle at a crossing near mm 546 on US Highway 2. A single vehicle, with one occupant, was struck in the front passenger quarter sending the vehicle into a ravine on the south side of the tracks. The driver was transported to the hospital. I want to address a rumor floating around Glasgow that says arrestees are being released from jail because of COVID and that the public is not being notified. This rumor is absolutely False! It is true that we have had a run of Covid in the detention center. We originally escaped the initial thrust of Covid in 2020 and were doing quite well with our procedures for cleaning and disinfecting. However, just like each of us, Covid caught up to us.
