The schedule will be different; condensed to reduce the amount of time families spend at the fair, but the shows will be essentially the same. The top priority of 4-H...

MSU Extension has teamed up with Dr. Erik Adams, a researcher at MSU as well as a physician who is a specialist in musculoskeletal medicine, to see if we can create better treatment strategies for osteoarthritis. Our goal in osteoarthritis treatment should not just be pain relief, which is of course important, but also making sure you are able to work and keep your agricultural operation productive. This starts with understanding the issue better, which is why we have developed a survey that we are deploying in ten Montana counties, including...
The holidays are right around the corner and with them come the holiday stressors. The commitments for time, money and emotional support can overwhelm us and strip the happy from the holidays. We are shopping, baking, wrapping and decorating, adding to our already full schedules. Add holiday parties, family gatherings, homes to prepare for possible guests and children’s school and church programs and we meet ourselves coming and going. All of this challenges us but this is also the season where financial expectations increase until our s...

The 2017 Northeast Montana Fair is but a memory, but the measurable impacts will continue long into the future. As reports of the 4-H/FFA Market Livestock sale travel throughout Valley and the surrounding counties, we are impressed by the outpouring of support our 4-H and FFA members have received from our generous community. Purchasing an animal at the sale is so much more than a photo in the paper or meat in the freezer. It is a strong message to our youth that "you matter" and "we support...

They can be fun to find during an annual Easter egg hunt or they can take on a more serious role when they have their place during Passover celebrations. Regardless of how you use hard-cooked eggs, take care to do so safely and avoid food-borne illness for your family and friends. Older eggs work best when making hard-boiled eggs. To determine if an egg is fresh, place the egg in a clear glass of cold water. If the egg lies flat on the bottom of the glass, it is quite fresh. If it stays at the b...
