    Lana Mason and John Yeska participated in the Junior High Academic Olympics at the beginning of April. They were a team of two competing against teams of five. Lana placed seventh in science and eighth in English. As a team they finished first in the oral competition. In High School Academic Olympics, Aliah Batalla placed sixth place in English and Billy Still placed third place in science, fourth place in math, second place in English and third place in Social Studies.     Opheim School would like to extend a huge congratulations to Mrs. Nicole Taylor, Carrie Taylor (senior), and Billy Still (eighth-grader) for their recent award winning essays and recognition as the VFW Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Nicole Taylor was nominated as the VFW Teacher of Year and has been recognized as the winner for the VFW Post, District, and State. She will be competing in the National competition.     Opheim's two seniors, Bo Anderson and Carrie Taylor, will represent Opheim on the Scobey Spartans basketball team. A full basketball schedule will be published later, so please come to support them if you can. The weather is getting cold, especially in the mornings which is when elementary students go to recess. Please send your children to school in clothing that will keep them warm if needed. We have extras in the office from the winter gear drive that occurred last January if they do forget....

    The Opheim FFA chapter recently wrapped up its 92nd Montana FFA State convention in Bozeman. The chapter competed in five competitions all together; Ag Sales, Agronomy, Extemporaneous Speaking, Mechanics, and Prepared Speaking. The Sales team this year was Cole Taylor, Carrie Taylor, Mandy Furhmann and Zach Fauth. Individually, the top two placings were taken by Cole Taylor (second) and Carrie Taylor (43rd).
