Loren John "Larry" O'Connor was born in New York City on February 12, 1911; he was later nick-named Larry and was known by that name most of his life. Records indicate that hewas baptized as "John Francis O'Connor" on February 13th, 1911, at St. Vincent Ferrer Church in Manhattan. He was orphaned at a very early age as his mother died shortly after childbirth. His father passed away a month or two later.
