    Smoke hung thick over Fort Peck Lake this past weekend, though whether it was wildfires or fishing rods burning up is hard to say. The top three teams in this year's Gov Cup walleye tournament brought in a combined 309.60 pounds of fish over two days.     The Glasgow Reds closed out their regular season Saturday in Laurel with two losses to post an 11-21 record on the 2023 season. They fell 1-0 and 9-5 June 25 to the Cardinals before losing 18-0 and 14-4 the following day to the Blue Jays. The Reds recovered with two home wins June 29 over the Richland Patriots.     The Thunder attended swim meets in Roundup and Cut Bank June 24 and 25 then traveled to Harlem this past weekend. Glasgow took 10 top five slots in Roundup with four first-place showings.     The Glasgow Reds came within a run of each game against the Richland Patriots June 22 but posted two road losses by scores of 10-9 and 11-10.     The Glasgow Reds opened up at home June 15 with two wins over the Glendive Blue Devils. They split their doubleheader June 17 against the Miles City Mavericks in Glasgow before dropping a set of games to the Mavericks on the road the following day.     A jury in Glasgow convicted Tommy Estel Sanson II on June 9 with two felony counts of Sexual Abuse of A Child. Both felony counts are punishable by life imprisonment or by imprisonment in the state prison for a term not to exceed 100 years, and fines of $10,000. The verdict came after a two-day trial.     The Glasgow Kiwanis Swim Team opened their 2023 season in Plentywood this past weekend, marking the first time the athletes have been in a pool. Despite that, members of the Thunder team earned 18 top five finishes with five first place showings.
