The Glasgow boys wrestling team will be sending 10 grapplers to the State tournament in Billings after all qualified, as expected, at the Divisional meet in Colstrip this past weekend. Shay Pedersen will become the first Glasgow Scottie to wrestle in the girls state tournament.     The Glasgow Area Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture held their 24th Annual Ice Fishing Derby this past Saturday at the Dredge Cuts Trout Pound. Jaxsen Diesen, a 9-year-old from Miles City, caught the tournament winning fish on his grandfather Joel Reagor's hole. He snagged a 0.48 lb. rainbow trout at 12:16 p.m. for the $2000 first prize.     The Glasgow girls basketball team improved their overall record to 10-6 this past week with wins over Glendive and Scobey. Thursday the Scotties downed the Red Devils 46-27 in Glendive. Glasgow defeated the Spartans 36-27 in front of a home crowd Saturday evening. Glasgow shut out Glendive in the first quarter while scoring 11 points.     Nashua's boys basketball team, back to full strength after battling illness and injuries, notched their first two wins of the season this past weekend. The Porcupines avenged earlier season losses with wins over Frazer, 62-39, and Brockton, 51-39. "The boys played well," said head coach Anthony Bengochea. "We're starting to click now."     The Nashua girls basketball team added two more wins to their record this past weekend with strong fourth quarter performances over Frazer and Brockton. The Porcupines defeated the Bearcubs 49-39 Friday in Frazer and followed that with a 56-37 win over the Warriors Saturday in Brockton. Nashua and Frazer stood tied at the end of the first quarter with 15 points on each side of the scoreboard. The Porcupines put up 17 points in the second for a 32-28 lead at the half.     1 Years Ago Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2011 • The Glasgow Scottie Band showed off in the Homecoming Parade this year, boasting a completely new set of uniforms.     The Canadians may have brought their "Eh" game to the Northeast Montana Fair's rodeo this year, but Montanans claimed the most number of top spots. Montana competitors won bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling – go-rounds 1 and 2, and barrel racing.   • Barnett Wins Maah Daah Hey 25 Mile

    Colter Barnett, of Fort Peck, raced away with the top slot in the Maah Daah Hey 100 MTB Race in the 25 mile competition. The 17-year-old placed first overall in the race with well over 100 competitors. He also won in the male 13-19 category. Barnett finished the race in 2:24:54.07, more than four minutes ahead of his nearest competition.     Scottie softball star Davyn Myrick signed with Scottsdale Community College in Arizona to continue her sports career at the collegiate level on July 27.
