Glennes “Glen” N. Sillerud, 86, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at the Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow, Mont.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, at 11 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Glasgow, followed by interment in the Highland Cemetery of Glasgow.
He was born on Dec. 28, 1926, in Rothsay, Minn., the son of Oliver and Clara (Pederson) Sillerud. He attended a country grade school for eight years. After two weeks of high school he dropped out of school and went to work for farmers and the Ford Garage in Pelican Rapids, Minn., until he was called into the service in 1945. After he completed his training and was waiting for his orders to go overseas, the war ended and he was Honorably Discharged.
